The initial workshop in our program focus on cultivating emotional intelligence and examining the influence of societal norms on gender roles. It begins with an introduction to the Four Agreements, providing a framework for personal growth. Through the thought-provoking activity titled “Man in the Mirror,” participants critically analyze societal messages surrounding femininity and masculinity. By reflecting on the qualities associated with being a “good” or “real” man, they gain a deeper understanding of themselves and navigate key topics such as sex, gender, gender identity, and expression. This workshop promotes self-awareness and empowers participants to navigate societal expectations.
During the second week of our program, we provide guidance on developing a resilient mindset through affirmations, manifestations, and goal-setting. Participants will explore the transformative impact of affirmations and manifestations, learning practical techniques to shape their own reality. Additionally, they will set both short-term and long-term goals within a supportive community, offering mutual guidance and support. Together, we cultivate a mindset that drives us towards success, empowering each participant to unlock their full potential and turn their dreams into reality.
Our Substance Abuse Education Program, led by a licensed therapist, offers comprehensive support for individuals struggling with addiction. Through educational sessions, group discussions, and individual counseling, participants gain knowledge, coping skills, and relapse prevention techniques. Our therapist provides expert guidance in a safe and supportive environment, empowering participants to overcome substance abuse and build a brighter future.
The fourth workshop prepares students for the workplace. We will discuss practical skills of creating a resume and cover letter, and how to prepare for an interview, and understanding the key elements of professionalism and work ethic. We will review communication skills for phone and email etiquette, how to dress appropriately for the workplace, and identify soft skills, including being punctual and reliable. Once they have secured a job, they should know how to negotiate their salary, accept or decline a job offer, and how to stay true to their values and principles while on the job. We will teach them how to handle workplace conflicts and how to communicate effectively with their colleagues and superiors. By instilling these skills and values, we can help young men become successful and responsible members of the workforce.
In the third workshop, we will break down suiting elements: fit, color, measurements, shoes, shirts, ties, and dress code etiquette. Students will learn how to build and maintain a wardrobe on a budget, the rules of mixing patterns, learn the basics of laundry care, and best practices on how to pack for travel. The segment covers dating etiquette, including how to ask someone out and communicate properly in person or online, and the importance of respecting boundaries and understanding when someone says "no." We review tips on how to be a considerate gentleman, such as proper tipping etiquette. Additionally, the module also delves into table manners, including guidelines for proper utensil usage and sitting posture.
The pinning ceremony is a momentous occasion in our program, symbolizing the graduation and preparedness of the young women to make their mark in the world. It brings together participants, families, and facilitators to celebrate their achievements. During this special event, each participant will receive an official pin and a certification of completion, representing their journey and accomplishment. Superlatives will be mentioned to honor outstanding achievements, and refreshments will be provided to create a joyful and celebratory atmosphere. The pinning ceremony is a significant milestone, marking the growth and readiness of these young women as they embark on their future endeavors with confidence and determination.
